Creative Character Design Techniques In this DVD, Neville offers alternative approaches to developing ideas, specifically for character concept development. There are times you want to approach a project with great specificity and then other times you want to put aside presumption and allow for "it” to happen to you. This DVD explores a few approaches to fostering "happy accidents” and ways to efficiently "see” quickly. Neville begins in Photoshop®, very quickly sketching random shapes and areas of value to "find" an image within. After discovering an intriguing image, he takes it to near completion, revealing the importance of staying open to new ideas as he develops a creature. From there he explores the same ideas for head and creature development using ZBrush's mirroring tool. Finally, he finishes with a sculpted ZBrush "sketch" showing ways to keep creativity alive while working in 3D. Instructor for this title: Neville Page

Digital-Tutors : Creating Game Characters with Maya 2011 and ZBrush 4 In this course we will use Maya to create a game-type, low-resolution character from a highly detailed ZBrush model. In this course, we'll go through the process of using Maya and Zbrush to convert a high resolution, sculpted and painted character into a low resolution game-type mesh that can be rigged and animated. We'll start by using Decimation Master to reduce the resolution of our model drastically while retaining much of the visual detail. Once we're in Maya, we'll build low resolution geometry around these detailed meshes to capture the important shapes of the character. We'll create uv layouts for the low resolution pieces and finally extract the color and sculpted detail from our high resolution pieces onto the new mesh. In the end we'll have taken a model of 20 million polygons down to a very useable 8-10k. Once you're done, you'll be able to use the workflow to transfer and convert your own high resolution characters into a more useable state.

Digital-Tutors : Getting Started with RealFlow5
In this series of lessons we'll learn the basics of using RealFlow 5. Using RealFlow, we can create realistic fluid and physics simulations that we can then bring into another application to light and render.
This series of lessons will introduce us to the powerful software of RealFlow so we can begin experimenting and using it for our own projects. By understanding now how emitters, daemons and objects interact, we can create and control complex simulations.
