Maya Camera Sequencer Digital Shot Progression DVD | 808 MB

In this DVD, John presents the new Camera Sequencer in Autodesk Maya, a toolset that allows users to create camera shots in a non-linear editing-style timeline within Maya. Using the Camera Sequencer, the viewer will learn production methods of building full sequences in Maya, shot-by-shot, which can then be playblasted as movies for editorial and animation. John begins by exploring the Sequencer menu and tool bar, and doing a general run down of all the exciting new functionality. Using a simple cycle of animation, he uses the Sequencer to "shoot" the animation from various camera angles, and edits the resulting shots until they begin to tell a story. Learn how to use the non-linear editing functions of the Sequencer - cutting, trimming, scaling and sliding shots on tracks, and look at methods to create and group alternate camera setups for easy presentation. John will also show you how to import a set of storyboards which have been exported from Final Cut Pro, and how to build a sequence of animation from these storyboards. This lecture will give animators, previs and rough layout professionals the ability to create full sequences of animation directly within Maya, quickly and efficiently.

In this series of lessons we'll learn how to do 2.5D relighting in Nuke. 2.5D relighting allows us to place lights in Nuke's 3d space and have them cast light on our images in a realistic fashion, using only image passes, no geometry. This is an incredibly powerful tool to change our 3d renders inside Nuke

We'll begin this project by learning what 2.5D relighting is, how we need a normals and point position pass from our 3d application, and the limitations of relighting in Nuke. We'll then learn how to use the un-supported ReLight node available in newer versions of Nuke, and how to connect all the passes together to make it work. We'll then learn a few techniques to get the most out of the relight node and how to use multiple relight nodes together. We will finish by taking a look at various methods of getting our image passes out of Maya and Softimage. By the end of this course, you should be able to begin experimenting with relighting in Nuke using your own projects.

In this series of lessons we'll learn how to combine depth maps to create correct layering between two renders. This allows us to split out scenes into multiple render layers while keeping the correct pixels on top.

We'll begin by taking a look at what is depth-based compositing or layering and why we would want to use it. Then we'll learn about some of the downsides of using this technique. We'll then dive in to After Effects and create a matte for our foreground layer using it's depth map and the background depth map. We'll then learn how to work with depth maps including combining maps from different scene scales, using depth-based layering to fix interpenetration issues and making depth maps human readable and error-free.
